Outside Sales Representative – Hydraulic Services & Components
Phoenix Hydraulics Ltd. is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to develop customer relationships and grow sales of hydraulic repair services and components in British Columbia. Based in Burnaby, we work with customers who depend on hydraulic equipment and value practical technical support, clear communication and reliable follow-through.
Location: Burnaby, BC, with regular customer visits
Compensation: Attractive salary and commission
What you will do
- Visit existing and prospective customers to understand their equipment, hydraulic challenges and purchasing needs.
- Develop opportunities for hydraulic cylinder repairs and manufacturing, pump and motor repairs, control valve and gearbox services, and replacement components.
- Build relationships with fleet operators, repair shops, equipment owners and industrial customers.
- Gather accurate equipment details, part numbers, measurements and photographs so our technical team can assess each request.
- Work with the shop and management to prepare quotations, explain the proposed scope of work and follow up with customers.
- Maintain clear records of customer visits, opportunities, quotations and next steps.
- Coordinate with the shop on job status and customer expectations. Do not promise pricing, technical outcomes or delivery dates before they are confirmed.
- Identify opportunities to grow repeat business while providing responsive service to existing customers.
What we are looking for
- Experience in outside sales, account management or business development, preferably involving hydraulics, heavy equipment, industrial parts or mechanical services.
- Practical understanding of hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors and valves—or the ability to learn these products quickly.
- Confidence discussing technical needs with maintenance managers, mechanics, purchasing teams and business owners.
- Strong communication, organization and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with technicians and shop management.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites as required for the role.
